A horse originally developed by the Nez Perce Native American Indian tribe, the Appaloosa is a living work of art! The spots so prevalent in this breed probably originated with the Spanish horses brought to America by the early European explorers. In this beautiful work of art, Heather Rohde has portrayed a fine stallion who displays one of the Appaloosa horse's most popular coat patterns -- the leopard. Other breeds sporting this type of spot patterning include Knabstrupers and Colorado Ranger Horses.
