The Artist: Heather Rohde
Rohde equine art and nature art is actively collected worldwide.

"For as long as I can remember, art has been an important part of who I am. It's my way of celebrating my love for life and sharing it with others!" -- Heather Rohde

AMERICAN ARTIST HEATHER ROHDE:
Acclaimed by Clients, Admired by Experts

It's no happy accident that Heather Rohde (Roe-Dee) is established as such a popular artist. Growing up in Oklahoma and Texas, she comes from a pioneering family rich with artistic talent. "Through the generations, family members have been involved in fields like architecture, woodworking, fine art, and design," she says, "Since many of them formed their own businesses, I apparently inherited entrepeneurial as well as creative genes!"

Collectors worldwide are delighted that Rohde, who now lives in the metro Chicago area, is a full-time professional artist. "I've sold thousands of works to art lovers nationally and internationally and have never had an unhappy customer," stresses Rohde. Judging from client comments, that is definitely an understatement! "I was delighted to find an artist in the United States who is able to create art that looks so alive and so beautiful," says Demetrios K. of Greece.

Many experts share the enthusiasm of this art lover. Her works have won top awards in nation-wide art exhibitions and appear in numerous publications, books, and products.

Wide-ranging Talents, Impressive Background
Versatile in oils, pastels, mixed media, and monochrome, Rohde's colorful paintings are usually described as "realistic" or "figurative". "My oils and pastels tend to have impressionistic elements," she points out. "Artistic influences include Monet and Renoir as well as Delacroix; however, my greatest influence is Nature itself." Her artistic repertoire encompasses landscapes and still lifes as well as animals, wildlife, and western scenes.

A scholarship student, Rohde earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art with honors from Northern Illinois University's (NIU) School of Art. The demanding degree requirements of this highly regarded institution included two formal portfolio reviews at leading Chicago area galleries. Glowing reactions from the public and subsequent sales enabled Rohde to launch her successful art business, Rohde Fine Art, while still an undergraduate.

Immortalizing Equine Beauty and Spirit
Rohde is an accomplished horsewoman who has owned, trained, and shown several breeds. Often compared to masters C.W. Anderson (1891-1971) and George Ford Morris (1873-1960) yet with a distinctive style all her own, she is regarded as a leader in the equine art genre.

Rohde's paintings have been shown at many important equine events including the Wyoming Governor's Invitational Wild Horse Art Show and Sale, the Art of the Horse national juried exhibition in Gladstone, New Jersey, and a Belmont Park Racetrack charity fundraiser at Saratoga Springs, New York.
