The beautiful black colt Sunday Silence was unique in that out of 14 career races, he never finished worse than second. He won nine of his starts, including the 1989 Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Breeder's Cup Classic. Famous for his rivalry with Alydar's son Easy Goer, Sunday Silence overcame great odds to become a champion. He had a less than impressive pedigree and was passed by in the sales ring twice as a yearling before finally selling as a 2-year-old in training for $32,000. Sunday Silence eventually earned nearly $5 million, became Horse of the Year, and later had a very successful stud career. Now you can enjoy Sunday Silence in your home with Rohde's select limited edition fine art portrait! Quote on bottom of piece reads: "He fought 'til the end...it was in his nature and that is why his name will last". Your Sunday Silence race horse art is available unframed or framed in a beautifully decorated brown and gold designer frame with a textured white mat. The frame has an easel attachment on the back so you can either set it up on a shelf or hang it on a wall! Sunday Silence comes personally hand signed and numbered by the artist and is of exceptional quality. A Certificate of Authenticity is included.
