Spectacular Bid had an incredible racing career at the close of the 1970s. The steel grey colt won an amazing 26 of his 30 starts (including the 1979 Kentucky Derby), coming in second twice. Blood Horse magazine ranks him as #10 of the top 100 U.S. thoroughbred champions of the twentieth century.
