Afleet Alex (Northern Afleet x Maggy Hawk by Hawkster) was an exceptional, well-loved and inspirational racehorse who came very close to winning the Triple Crown in 2005. He was the winner of 8 races in 12 starts. His dramatic victory in the 2005 Preakness Stakes was voted the "Moment of the Year" by the National Thoroughbred Racing Association. Quote on bottom of piece reads: "We live by admiration, hope, and love. -- William Wordsworth".
