Rohde's Go For Wand tribute is a must have for horse lovers who admire the heart and determination of great thoroughbreds.

In this fine art portrait, artist Heather Rohde pays tribute to the great thoroughbred filly Go For Wand (Deputy Minister x Obeah by Cyane). Go For Wand, like Ruffian before her, had a racing career marked with both brilliance and tragedy. She won the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Two-Year-Old Filly in 1989 and Outstanding Three-Year-Old Filly in 1990. Sadly, Go For Wand lost her life in the 1990 Breeders' Cup Distaff after breaking her ankle. Quote on bottom of piece under the horse's name reads: "She raced with such joy and abandon".
